Description

Students attending the Firewall Essentials 1 class will gain an in-depth knowledge of how to install, configure, and manage a Palo Alto Networks firewall, as well as configuration steps for the security, networking, threat prevention, logging, and reporting features of the Palo Alto Networks Operating System. Firewall Essentials 2 is the next-level follow-on course to Palo Alto Networks® Installation, Configuration, and Management (PAN-EDU-201).

Prerequisites

Basic networking knowledge.

Guy Bass is a Academy Instructor for Palo Alto Networks. Guy has been training corporate customers and academy faculty all over the world. He brings to the Palo Alto Networks Academy his experience as Network Security instructor for different Universities around the country for 14 years and also worked in industry for 10 years as a system engineer and programmer. Guy also served in the US Air Force as a B-52G Gunner.

Three Objectives

1. Feel confident in knowledge to understand, configure and manage a Palo Alto Networks firewall.
2. Be able to conduct basic troubleshooting on the Palo Alto Networks firewall
3. Successfully compete their Accredited Configuration Engineer (ACE) accreditation
